Refractive Error
Uncorrected refractive error remains one of the leading causes of vision impairment amongst children and adults, where 36% of persons with distance vision impairment due to refractive error have received appropriate intervention.

The World Health Organization’s 2019 World Report on Vision, calls for action through Integrated People-Centred Eye Care (IPEC) — a lifelong approach that ensures eye care is accessible, preventive, and treatment-focused at every stage of life. IPEC strengthens health systems, supports universal health coverage, and drives progress toward SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.2
